What a fun, fun vintage handkerchief made by Burmel. Although it may not be politically correct today due to the cigarette this is a wonderful hard to find Burmel hankie. Lady cocker spaniel dog is dressed for afternoon tea complete with large blue and red hat adorned with roses. She is sipping tea and smoking a cigarette in a long cigarette holder. Check out the long eyelashes! Miss Cocker Spaniel sits upon a blue and red footstool that matches her hat. Signed Burmel the hankie measures about 15" square. The background color is a light blue and the rolled hem is a bit darker blue. This great hankie is shown on page 15 of the book Handkerchiefs A Collector’s Guide. Excellent vintage condition, a wonderful addition to any hankie collection.
