Michael V.W. Gordon, Professor Emeritus of The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music sings from a 2007 released CD album, "Echoes of Mercy". This CD was released in Ghana (West Africa) as a part of the 71 year old music educator's new ministry of song and word in West Africa. The scenes in this video take place inside and outside his home in Accra, Ghana, which he calls "Shambala". This DVD has been broadcast on television all over Ghana. Here he presents his new arrangement (orchestrations by Makafui Kwame) of this very old Negro Spiritual (songs invented by African slaves in the United States), "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?"
