Nothing special, but reliable. Not sure if I'd rather fill up all 4 slots w/ 1 gig chips or get a 4 gig kit and leave 2 slots open. Trouble w/ 2 x 2gb is that it's about $60 more expensive than 4 x 1gb and by the time I'll want more memory, I'd guess that either (1) I'll want a new machine, or (2) 2gb mem prices will be drastically lower.
Gigabyte gets great customer reviews (this one gets 85% 5-star). Sounds like there might be issues with this board: drivers aren't easy to get (though should be less of a problem w/ Linux), memory over 1.8v may not work (though this may not be an issue for non-OC/non-top-of-the-line memory). A bit more modern than the AM2 Gigabyte w/ the awards.
