Jaw Dropping 1980s teal sequin cocktail dress. Rendered in an incredible satin fabric, bandage silhouette, sweetheart neckline, crinkled at bodice, draped panel with jumbo bow at hemline, back zipper enclosure in back and translucent opalescent sequins scattered throughout the crinkled fabric. I can not say enough about this dress that is in excellent vintage condition. Oh did I mention that it fits like a glove?

The shirred midriff and ribbon tails are made of taffeta. There is a blue net petticoat attached to the skirt. This gorgeous gown appears to be homemade but is exquisitely crafted. It has a Talon Nylon zipper which would date it in the mid 60's, but the styling is earlier.........it's possible it was made in the mid 60's from an earlier pattern. I just don't know. I do know that it is in excellent condition with no rips or tears or stains and even the little thread loops for the hooks over the zipper are intact. Measurements for bust, waist and hip are taken with garment laying flat and then doubled. Sleeve length is measured from center back of collar to hem of sleeve. What a wonderful cocktail party wiggle sun dress or suit from designer Carlyle! Circa 1950s. I went back and forth on whether to call this darling set a dress or a suit and finally decided it is a two piece dress ensemble! Beautiful medium weight white cotton textured pique fabric ~ unlined. Fitted bodice with white on white embroidery and openwork with soutache middle section ~ lined with sheer white semi-sheer backing. Very short cap sleeves are cut as part of the bodice. Cute peplum and center back bow. Zips up the center back with a well working 9-1/2" metal zipper. The matching skirt is a classic wiggle ~ zips up the center back with a well working 6-1/2" metal zipper.
