This is a stunning original 1950's silk chiffon cocktail party / prom dress and sheer coat ensemble. The light brown / tan color is like sparkling maple sugar. The curve hugging fitted bodice has a pleated shelf bust over a fitted waist with full pleated skirt. Note the 9 1/2" deep hem. Dress is fully lined with a matching light brown sugar silky shimmery acetate. Closes with back metal zipper. A spectacular sheer silk coat completes this ensemble. It's a simple coat swith short sleeves with large pointed turn back cuffs.

This is a stunning original 1950's taffeta and velvet cocktail party / prom dress. Made of the swishiest silkiest midnight black taffeta, this beauty features a classic New Look silhouette with a fitted bodice, nipped waist and impressive full skirt. This fabric is the heavy taffeta that has such fabulous body that it nearly doesn't need a crini. The silken black velvet bodice features front ruched petal attachement that enhances a small bust. It is trimmed with a black velvet ribbon bow with streamers. The straps are made of black velvet ribbon also. The nipped waist is accented with a ruched or gathered cumberbund effect and sits over an amazingly full skirt that rustles and swings with movement! The bodice is fully lined and zips up the back with a metal zipper.

We love love love this 1950s cocktail gown. The gown has a lovely brown hue that so many dresses from that era now have. Leaf motif lace with a collar and sleeve cuff. See close up photos for exact color. Dress has 3 layers: outside lace layer, brown tulle layer, bottom mauve poly lining. Dress has a lace covered belt at waist, and side hook and zipper closure. Lovely full skirt that would fabulous with a full crinoline. Wide shoulder with scoop neck and back.

This week we have a flirty full 1950's cocktail gown in a yummy mocha lace! A sexy peek-a-boo lace that requires a full slip underneath, this dress has a tulle trim at the skirt hem, and a petticoat under the skirt. Fabric covered buttons for decoration only in the front - although there is a hook so dress can be worn "buttoned up all the way" if desired. Closure is a center zipper down the back. Cuffed cap sleeves.

So chic and classic is this 1950's cocktail dress. Black Taffeta with a white and grey brushstroke print with black flocked velvet at the tips of the strokes. Actually we were calling this the "fireworks" dress...which could be what you will stir up when you wear it...or the print? Sweet ties adorn the cuffed short sleeves.
