Glorious 1940s black velvet evening gown rendered in a princess silhouette with sweetheart neckline, short puff sleeves with slight train and side metal zipper enclosure. The dress also sports black tulle detail at shoulders and a dropped square back. This gorgeous dress is in excellent vintage condition.
A darling vintage train/vanity case from the 1940s in a rich mahogany brown shade ~ trimmed with gold hardware ~ lined with mahogany & buff fabric (appears to be rayon) ~ inside is a mirror & stretch straps to hold bottles upright ~ balled feet on bottom of case ~ durable handle on top. This is a really cute case with lots of character ~ great display piece but can also be used as it was originally intended.
About the panties ~ there are 3 lovely pairs in silky soft peachy pink fabric which we believe to be rayon. Textured with a horizontal design ~ they are very feminine. Full cut, double lined gusset and stretch waist. The waistline is actually gathered fabric with a satin stretch panel stitched to the outside which makes them very comfortable. The leg openings are trimmed in soft cotton. Just lovely ....
Beautiful sheer blouse with genuine shell button enclosures up back. Miniature layer of ruffles at collar and cuff. 3/4 length sleeves, lace detail above cuffs (lace has been mended). This ultra sex Kitten blouse is in good condition with two tiny holes inside arm, slight smudge mark beneath arm. Still wearable as is and a lovely blouse at that! MEASUREMENTS: BUST: 36" WAIST: 28" LENGTH: 20 1/2" ARMS: 12"
These are SO very unusual! We've never seen another pair like them and cannot find any on the web. We believe they date to the 40s/50s. We have been unable to find any markings on them. They appear to be fireflies with a opalescent blue (probably glass, unsure) "jelly belly" under the wings. They have two rhinestones on each head, and two black eyes (the enamel is wearing off a bit, you could have this touched up easily enough). They're screwbacks. They measure just under 1" in length. Other than the enamel wearing they're in lovely condition - and so very unusual! The blue is beautiful, it changes in different lights.
Very unusual ethnic beaded design with art deco "edge" details the jewel neckline of this gorgeous 1940s black cocktail dress. Long sleeve princess silhouette with jewel neckline, padded shoulders, back hemline dips into a slight train in back, side steal and back steal zipper enclosures. This dress has more steal zippers than I have ever seen on such an old dress. Both sleeves have miniature steal zipper enclosures at cuffs as well. Rendered in semi sheer light weight crepe fabric. This dress is in very good vintage condition with some of the bead/sequins missing at upper left neckline (see fifth image). Gold on guilded sequins have begun to fade. All four zippers work perfectly and limited other signs of wear. No holes, tears, odors or stains.
WOW - What a beauty! This wrist bag / clutch from Evans is one of the best we've ever seen! Looks like it was hardly used! Bag has a mesh wrist strap and opens from both sides. One side holds your beauty supplies: mirror, a tube of Helen Neushaefer lipstick in the color "Candy Kisses", powder, a comb, and a spring loaded slot for change. The other side can hold money, cards, or cigarettes. Measures 5.5" x 3", strap is 5" long. Condition is great - only flaws we see are a few spots on the mirror.
A very lovely piece! Very soft pink, nylon, very sheer 1940s blouse. Crystal pleats at the bodice and lace. Two round clear buttons, along with a flat clear button at the waist. Lovely cuff detail on the sleeves. There are several picks and nicks here and there throughout the nylon (see photos), and a couple of very small holes on the right side at the waist (again see photos). If you'd like more close-up shots, please drop us a line. Some discoloration under the arms on the interior seams. This may come out with a wash, however, fairly delicate piece and we'll leave this up to you. Very dreamy and romantic 1940s piece.
Here's a treasure from the late 1940's. Red Rhythm Step Heels, known as Babydolls. The condition is almost mint, having two slightly darkened spots on the sides which I have photographed, probably from getting wet. These are estate finds having been properly stored and worn only a few times. The box is original. The color is a deep red, not a true bright red, almost a maroon. There's no scuffs or wear on the leather, just the two darkened spots. These great pumps have the short rounded toe decorated with 6 white beads as the only adornment. The thick heels are 3 inches high. They are labeled a size 7B and I believe that is very close to being correct. I wear between a 7 and 7 1/2 and they fit me perfectly. Measuring with a tape measure on the inside they are 9 3/4 inches long. Measuring the width on the sole of the shoe they are 3 inches wide.
