I like how casual you can play silver--if you do it right. the sweetheart-styled lower neckline, the above-elbow length sleeve, and the uniform gathers make this nicely decked out in details, but not to the point where you'd have to wear rhinestoned out prom shoes with it. Good job.
It's a bit harsh as is, and I think it might improve with a above-elbow-length sleeve and maybe nix the bow at the neck in favor of a hook and eye--but I am all about that way big keyhole opening type business.
I like how this is slightly vintage-inspired, but still with it's pointy heels facing into the near future. It's a neat take on a mandarin collar, and the canvas makes the puffy sleeves look more like a stiff meringue than something that belongs on a precocious six-year-old. It's maybe a smidge long for a bolero, but whatever. Also: I like this better in not white, like a crazy medium-sized print (amy butler is too big, aunt grace too small).
Seriously? Like, for really serious? Twelve hundred dollars for a little short-sleeved blouse? Jeezum crowe. I will break out the twin needle and the pintuck foot and even buy damn $20 a yard silk to PRACTICE on. Stuff is crazy, man.
It's a little gimmicky, but I think I like it. I'm really going to try to cop the sheer-play for next spring, and I do love a shaped placket on the closure strip. The theory behind this seems very vintage--I'm claiming '30s and not '70s while I'm at it, too.
