Love this gothy summertime stuff. I have a fairly decent black lace high-collared shirt to wear a camisole underneath, but the clean lines afforded by this not-quite-tunic length and the lack of sleeves make me think I need another one.
I totally dig on the navy with black, and who wouldn't love the fantastic hand and perfect drape of a silk jersey? I'm just a touch curious about the collar-lapel business up there, 'cause I can't quite make out the details.
This is just exactly what I want in a fun-loving gothy professional dress for the summertime. It's cotton, so it'll breathe like an olympic swimmer, and while the short sleeves and collar say "wear me to work!" the knee length ruched panelled skirt says "but I am leaving early for a slightly dramatic affair that will pursue the wee hours of the morning, as if that were any of YOUR business cranky boss type." I mean, perfect, right?
The folks over at RoD must've read some stand-up slavic lit lately--and just as I can attest to the staying power of Gogol' and Pushkin, so can I say that these beauties could escalate right up to wardrobe stalwarts in my possession.
Oooh! More love from RoD! I'm all about the funk-factors here--the shapely vamp, the conical heel, the snub toe, the jagged heel counter--but I also love the black and green combo. Now if only the blasted u.s. dollar would eat its wheaties...
I'm not sure I could look good in a trim, below-the-knee silk skirt, but it is tempting to try it out. I love pleated silk--just think it's classy--and that underskirt with the peekaboo whatsit? I am yanking that back into the long tunic with skirt trend of the mid-to-late 1930s. Which I totally adore, natch.
I do rather enjoy the bright yellow with black combo, and the silver nip at the waist tosses it into a higher tax bracket. I'm also digging on the knee-length, pencil or slight A-line skirted sleeveless dress--lovely way to use up some one-yard cuts of fabric, too.
