This is all kinds of forties-inspired: shortie, bolero-length + curly-q detailing + high sleeve caps + overall demure but cutesy. But Anna, really? $550 for a polyester doubleknit? Wow.

So notwithstanding the que ridiculo pricetag, I'm happy to see uber fancy shoes with a super walkable wedge. I just hope that someone with a bit of integrity in their quality decides to knock this off, instead of the f-21 nonsense.

Holy crap; I love this mess. This would be a great project for a nice ombre fabric. Very fifties glam and breathable in this cotton-silk organdy (plus it's lined).

Love this gothy summertime stuff. I have a fairly decent black lace high-collared shirt to wear a camisole underneath, but the clean lines afforded by this not-quite-tunic length and the lack of sleeves make me think I need another one.

This is a great style for that batou neckline; I love the darts, the midriff band, the chunky straps at the sleeveline, the length, and that color! Boy howdy. I think I could nix the v-shaped back with the bow, though. Very sixties-sheath-dress on ya.

Super cutie idea, with that shaped yoke and the side slits and the subtle a-line shape of the back. Cotton-silk blend is right on for summertime, so start your engines! You know, like my engine.

DUDE. Finally. I feel like I've looked for ages for a genuine sailor pants pattern. The straight legs, the grommets and lacing in the back and--yes, yes, with the forty-six buttons in the front you have to undo every time you go to the powder room. But seriously: it took way too long for this pattern to pop up somewhere.

Don't get me wrong! Sometimes I dream about this weird discount shoe place somewhere in L.A. where all the stuff I've lusted after for the last eight months is marked down to like $90 plus it's in a euro 40, and these improbable ankle-butchering cuties will no doubt make a cameo appearance the next time I eat too much ice cream before I hit the hay and am all preoccupied in my snooze. But that is one gargantuan heel. And $830 is, you know, a lot of dough. Sam Edelman has a more or less true-to-feeling knockoff at zapp's for an even c-note. In different colorways natch.
