There is a test battery in the clock so you can listen to the songs without opening the package. This will need to be changed with one of the 2 required batteries. The clock from the top of the bird to the bottom of the attached acorn measures 8.75 inches. The weights, not including the length of chain that they hang on, measure 2.25 inches long.
