Step back 60 years ago to a time when comics -- a new medium born in excitement, innocence, and great aspiration -- were capturing the attention of readers everywhere. This is the time in which Burne Hogarth came and changed the face of sequential storytelling with his all-time-classic strips "Tarzan" and "Prince Valiant." Over the last several years, Hogarth and his collaborator, screenwriter Harry Hurwitz, had been working on a new comics series, one which would do for the comics of the 1990s what his earlier work had done for those of the 1930s and 1940s. The result is Morphos the Shapechanger . Hogarth and Hurwitz had created the first installment of a four-issue miniseries which will, sadly, never be completed due to their untimely deaths.
