KitchenAid 5-Quart Stand Mixer

id love to have this in my kitchen

I have to say I can not beleive I have cooked as long as I have in the kitchen w/out one of those. My husband and I received one this May 2008 as a wedding gift, and we use it at least every other day. LOVE ITTT!!!

This appliance will make you want to cook and bake more often! The first few years I owned mine I thought the key benefit was being able to multi-task, you know - mixing the cake batter and washing the dishes at the same time. However, I recently discovered the multitude of attachments available and my world has opened up! We grind our own meats now - chicken, beef, turkey, etc... being able to control the fat content has made a world of difference in our family's diet. I recently started making my own pastas, which I thought I would never do when pasta was under a $1 a box. However, in today's economy I can make pasta fresh in 10 minutes and the taste of the store bought stuff does not compare! The only downside to the stand mixer is that it is a prominate piece of equipment. It is heavy, and will take up some space. However, if you use it every other day or so then it is worth it. I do recommend that you buy a cover. When covered, you can simply remove the cover and begin mixing. Without the cover you end up having to wash the bowl and attachments (dusty) before each use.
