Updated for 2008! Streamlined and economical, the Black Diamond Cosmo headlamp utilizes a 1/2-watt LED and two smaller LEDs. Lightweight and compact, the Cosmo is ready-made for camping or backpacking trips. Multiple brightness settings and a strobe feature make the Cosmo a versatile backcountry companion. A durable, rubberized toggle switch on the top of the Cosmo's housing makes the headlamp easy to operate. At its brightest setting, the Cosmo's 1/2-watt bulb produces a beam that reaches nearly 125 feet! Additional settings allow you to regulate the length of the beam, increasing efficiency and burn time in the process. By using the Cosmo's lowest, most economical setting, you can expect a burn time of up to 140 hours. A strobe setting produces a pulsing light for emergency signaling. The Cosmo requires three Alkaline AAA batteries (included). Even with the batteries, the Cosmo weighs only 2.8 ounces. An elastic headband adjusts to enhance comfort and ensure that the Cosmo remains securely in place while in use. The housing of the Cosmo is hinged so you can angle the beam as needed for the conditions and the task at hand.
