Earl Grey owes it luscious fragrance and flavor to the addition of essential oil of Bergamot, extracted from the peel of the Bergamot orange. Our Earl Grey has light to medium body and a subtle, natural, citrus taste. It owes its name to Charles Earl Grey, a 19th century British Prime Minister. According to legend, a diplomat sent to China by the Earl saved the life of a Chinese Mandarin's son. To show his gratitude, the Mandarin sent the Earl this unique tea. Teaosophy's Earl Grey has light to medium body and can be enjoyed in the morning or afternoon.
