Shure SE110 Sound-Isolating Earphones

I am a metal fabricator/welder and I love these. I can listen to my I-pod while wearing a grinding shield,welding hood or a burnin, I went to the Mission Viejo Apple Store today to get another gig of ram for my iMac and picked these up while I was waiting. I tru, I purchased the Shure SE110 earphones from an Apple Store about 1 week ago., I purchased these for my new iPod Nano for Christmas. The earphones that come with the iPod have a much richer sound than these SE, I purchased these headphones because an Apple store employee recommended these over the Bose headphones. The employee wanted to kn, maybe i am wrong, but the plug seems bigger than the ipod plug-hole. since i have listened with those the connection went from bad
