'Alindas and Zoel just looked at each other. The blood that was splattered on their arms and faces had streaked with the water as it dried, and their hair and hemp undergarments sagged from their svelte bodies...'
Not so long ago, in a far off land not unlike that of our own, these two fit and feral females called a truly resplendant land their home. It's a mystical place that few of us will ever again get the chance to see, a magnificent land where the tiger still roars, the wolves still howl, and the monkeys swing from tree to tree. The landscape is timeless and unremitting, and all beings adhere to the natural laws because time has taught all well what turmoil results when disruptions in these cycles are caused.
But the winds of change blow straight, and not all wills are equally as strong. And from brashness a land gets claimed which to no mortal being will ever belong.
By the thousands these invaders come, controlled by currency, religion, and a fraudulent scheme. As the many willfully support the few by stripping the pristine land clean. The forest soon finds itself plagued by these thieves who can take but never do give back and soon the ecology of this land begins to wane from the weight of this rapacious attack. Those who remain through this overthrow to deflect such a blatant and rash iniquity find themselves too few in numbers, time and in their unique weaponry. But like any smart squirrel who plans ahead by storing a nut, these warriors will try their hardest to keep the door of fate from slamming shut. Their band grows tight, despite how ridiculously outnumbered they find themselves to be, and they all know they must use themselves in order for all beings to live free.
The stage for conflict is set, as the protectors of the forest step up to accept the challenge and they soon don the camouflage to defend a land that has no business being replaced in the balance.
