Born in Oviedo in 1961, Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola studied Architecture at the Madrid Polytechnic, with renowned designer Achille Castiglioni as her advisor. In 2001, she opened her own studio, where she supervises numerous designs, installations, and architectural commissions. Her sleek modern lines and geometric inspirations have also generated mass appeal in the creation of consumer products for Alessi, Kartell, Foscarini, and more. Frilly, Particia Urquiola's new transparent polycarbonate chair for Kartell, was born of the idea of industrial sculpture transformed into a charming ergonomic shape. The Frilly Chair's undulating effect gives this piece a light, soft look, like pleated fabric, for a sensual, fun and feminine optical effect. Available in a wide range of colors is reminiscent of natural elements, giving the chair a further light and lovely touch.
