The greatest American pastime is baseball. With millions of devoted fans, you know you have a good number of friends that will enjoy baseball. You can bring the ball park to your house with a well planned baseball party. Look for baseball themed party supplies like invitations and paper goods such as baseball themed paper plates and napkins. A few great party favors and decorations can make your party a hit.
Remember the baseball themed food. You will want to put some hot dogs on the barbecue: go for the foot longs. Don’t forget the peanuts and cracker jacks. Popcorn and nachos are also great as well as some chips, beer and soda. You can get some tickets to a game and have a tail gate party or get a big screen TV and have a party at home. It’s a fun idea to have your guests come dressed up or provide the gear yourself. Buy baseball caps for everyone or get party hats with the team name or logo on them. Ask guests to dress up in jersies, team colors or their own ball caps to liven up the team spirit.
You don’t need wildly exciting invitations to please. A handmade invite will be appreciated with a ticket inside or a mention of a big screen TV awaiting them. Try making your own tickets for a home party to your own private ball park and seats. You could also save some time and buy invites that look like tickets or that are baseball themed. You may try ordering some personalized invitations for your baseball party if you are planning to go all out and have a big bash. You could also try making photo invitations with your favorite players on them.
You may want something to welcome your guests, so soon as they arrive give them a goody bag, even if you are heading out to the game later instead of staying at home. For cheering the game on you may want to try baseball or baseball bat shaped maracas. These will be nice and loud and a lot of fun for all. Give everyone a bag of peanuts that are in shell but roasted and salted. Include the box of Cracker Jacks with a prize inside. You might want to include a mini baseball that they can squeeze or throw at their friends who are rooting for the wrong team. If you want to be silly you can include a pair of baseball themed party glasses. These are lots of fun especially at a game. Include a water bottle decorated up in baseball theme. They will need a to keep hydrated to cheer the team on. If you want to bring a more festive feel you can include some baseball beads so everyone can dress up.
You may want to put up a baseball wall covering or posters all over. They are easy to put up and make the room more exciting. Be sure to put on the front door as well to welcome them in. You can buy specially made baseball themed door covers. If the baseball party is in someone’s honor get a personalized banner for them. Paper plates and plastic forks will be just fine. Be sure to stock up on plenty of napkins for messes and sticky fingers. Think about making the paper plates baseball themed. Use baseball themed cups and mugs too. You can get cheap mugs especially for the party.
Some of your guests will not want to sit in front of the TV for the whole game. So it is great to be ready with some games to keep them entertained or quick games may also be good between innings. Baseball trivia is always a great game in a room full of fans. You can make the questions as easy or as hard as you like and offer prizes for hard questions or for the player who gets the most questions correct. You can play waffle baseball or to make it quick waffle home run mania. Just choose a homerun line and mark it off. Anyone who hits the waffle ball past that line has hit a home run. Player with the most home runs wins. For younger guests get a baseball piñata and fill it with goodies. Have a drawing to see who gets to try and hit it first. A dart board could be fun for adults or supervised children. Have numbers on the board and aim for them number of the inning. You could use baseball cards in a deck or better individual cards, bobble head mascots, baseball bat shaped pens, actual bats for high stakes games, baseball hats, or posters as prizes.
Baseball parties are a great party to plan because they are so informal. Just about anything goes. It is extremely easy to have a hit party. Since baseball is the American past time you may want to break out those great Red, White, and Blue decorations and go for a patriotic event. Get custom labels with the team logo for candy bars and drinks to go with your plates and signs. Think about a big sign, banner or cut outs to draw attention to the party area. Get your favorite player as a cut out for people to pose with for photos or get the team names done up in large letters. Or stick with a simple Play Ball! banner. Many party stores may offer kits for planning a baseball party that include signs and plates and all you need. Get a big inflatable baseball beach ball to play with and toss around. You may want to hand out baseball themed fans, maybe with the team logo on them. No matter your age or who you root for a baseball party could be the best party of the year. Good luck!
